Description

Image is of local old-time sourdough, dog musher and trapper Ed Ueeck. Ed lived for many years in Palmer and trapped around Sheep Mountain and the head of Matanuska River drainage. In years when Ed sported a full beard he was voted “Mr. Fur Face” at the Anchorage winter Fur Rendezvous and also served as a model for some of painter Fred Machetanz’s well-known paintings. (1898-1990)
