Description

This fall view from the front window of a north-bound locomotive shows the approach to the Eklutna railroad station in middle ground on the left of the tracks where the tracks curve to the right heading closer to the base of the mountains to cross Eklutna Flats. The single-story depot building is painted a dark color with white trim. A smaller shed with a white roof and other small structures are visible at right of the depot. Heavy forest is obvious on both sides of the image beyond a wide grass-covered clearing on both sides of the tracks. A line of telephone poles with wide double crossarms parallels the tracks at the left of the clearing while a line of poles with single narrow crossarms follows the right side. Snow-capped Chugach Mountains form the background. In far middle ground beyond the trees the four steel lattice radio towers located on Eklutna Flats are visible.
